Booking for
2008 will close on July 31st. The Studio option is sold
out; there are still a few places
left on the Workshop option (which
does actually include studio
time).The 2008 festival dates
are from Monday 18th August 2008
(late Sunday arrival available)
to Friday 22nd August 2008 (Saturday
morning checkout available).

Guest tutors 2008 -
Richard Thompson,
Iain Archer, Boo Hewerdine
We're delighted to announce that songwriting
legend Richard Thompson will be
joining us as a guest tutor for
part of the 2008 festival. Richard will be presenting a masterclass/workshop
about his songwriting, joining our songwriting panel, and will be
on hand to listen to our songwriters' new work.
After
a brief visit to the 2007 festival,
Ivor Novello award-winning songwriter
and solo artist Iain Archer (Snow
Patrol) will be returning to join
us as a guest tutor in 2008.
We're also pleased to welcome a
new tutor to the team. Boo Hewerdine
(the Bible. Eddi Reader, Natalie
Imbruglia etc) will be on hand
throughout the week, supporting
our writers and participating in

Midge Ure
Midge was one of our guests at the 2006 festival, where he talked about his songwriting and offered comments and critiques of students' work. Chris joined the SWF team for the whole week, supporting students and also performing live at the Michael Tippett Centre. Staff biogs...
